High Tide

Director: Marco Calvani, 101 min, USA

Lourenço (Marco Pigossi) is a gay Brazilian immigrant living in Provincetown following a painful breakup. With a visa about to expire, he finds himself at a crossroads with two promising prospects: a flirtatious fling with the charming New Yorker Maurice (James Bland), and a crucial meeting with immigration lawyer Todd (Bryan Batt). However, shadows from both Lourenço and Maurice’s pasts, coupled with the harsh realities of being an undocumented immigrant in the United States, loom over their aspirations for a brighter future. Featuring an exceptional ensemble cast including Oscar-winner Marisa Tomei, Mya Taylor from Tangerine, and Bill Irwin. The film explores themes of love, resilience, and identity, that paint a vibrant and heartfelt portrait of queer lives intersecting on the beaches of Provincetown.
