Glitter & Doom

2023, 115 minutes, Dir: Tom Gustafson, USA/Mexico

In Tom Gustafson & Cory Krueckeberg’s (Were the World Mine) visually stunning new musical film set to the music of the Indigo Girls, we meet two aspiring musicians who find themselves entangled in a world where dreams and challenges collide. Set against the backdrop of a vibrant music scene, this movie takes us on a wild ride through their tumultuous lives one summer. Doom (Alan Cammish), is a brooding musician, and Glitter (Filipino musical superstar Alex Diaz) is a free-spirited, circus-kid. Together, they take camping trips, have late night conversations and navigate the relationships with their mothers (Ming-Na Wen & Missi Pyle). Expertly choreographed dance routines, jaw-dropping costume designs, and explosive stage effects will transport you into a world where dreams truly come alive. With an all-star cast of queer icons and luminaries who enrich the story with their undeniable talent and fierce individuality. Joining the cast are Lea DeLaria, Tig Notaro, Kate Pierson, Peppermint, Beth Malone, and the legendary Indigo Girls themselves, making this a true celebration of queer brilliance and representation. Filmed in Mexico City!
